Organization: UN System Staff College

As the impact of COVID-19 intensifies globally, the UN System Staff College is expanding its array of online offerings to enable UN personnel and partners to sharpen their knowledge and skills from home.

Two new online offerings address challenges that UN staff face given the rapidly developing Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, which has forced a large number of UN staff to dramatically alter how they work, exposing them to new uncertainties.

Explore these new learning offerings:

An expansive selection of online courses – many for free

With 33 per cent of its learning programmes offered online, the Staff College has been a leader in distance learning since 2012. Courses on sustainable development are being offered free of charge, thanks to a generous contribution from the Government of Germany.

Retool your innovation skills

The College is also offering a number of free resources that can be accessed online, such as the UN Innovation Toolkit. Developed by the UN, for the UN, this digital platform – accessible anytime, anywhere from your computer, tablet or mobile phone – should help inspire ideas. This invaluable resource includes twenty-one tools, step-by-step directions, worksheets, case studies, references as well as a 27-question assessment which provides a diagnosis on every user’s strengths and areas for improvement.

Gain actionable insights

The Staff College has been a knowledge leader for some time, sharing actionable insights through its UNSSC blog. It will be increasing the flow of content on its blog in the coming weeks, to provide a continual source of analysis for UN teleworking personnel and partners. · Explore our blog

Virtual “Coffee Hours”

The College will be producing a new webinar series to bring together leading thinkers and practitioners to discuss issues of concern for the 2030 Agenda, peace and security, and leadership and management. You will hear more about this shortly.

Moving face-to-face online

UNSSC is in the process of moving a number of residential programmes fully online, by making use of a number of digital tools that simulate face-to-face experiences.
