Target audience: Persons already working or willing to work as a manager in the humanitarian sector.
Prerequisites: Mandatory : previous experience in project or programme management. Level B2 minimum in English (according to European language levels – Self Assessment Grid)
Objectives: To enable participants to develop an adequate and relevant security strategy related to a specific context or project learn the definitions of security and safety, know the global trends in aid worker security and safety, analyse a context and identify major threats, vulnerabilities and risks for humanitarian organisations, identify security responsibilities and decision-making process, develop and implement an adequate and relevant security strategy related to a specific context or project (acceptance, protection and deterrence), use adequate tools (security plan, contingency plan, Standard Operating Procedures) to prevent or mitigate risks towards the organisation staff, assets and reputation, report and manage security information.
