Socio-economic inclusion has become a priority in Latin America due to gaps and structural deficiencies in the social and economic systems in the region. Therefore, Action Against Hunger considers it key to address the multiple forms of exclusion, confirming our priority to stop hunger, while promoting and supporting deeper changes that seek to reduce these gaps from an approach on the nexus between humanitarian action, development, and peacebuilding.
In this regard together, with three other leading regional organizations (International Organization for Migration/OIM, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees/UNHCR and COTUCPROMA), we decided to host an event to present the conclusions, lessons learned and main recommendations regarding "socio-economic inclusion", establishing two fundamental objectives:
- Promote socio-economic inclusion as an intervention strategy.
a. relevant, feasible, effective, and sustainable for the most vulnerable populations and/or affected by the different humanitarian crises.
b. promoting the nexus between humanitarian and development interventions.
c. essential to the well-being of the most vulnerable and/or crisis-affected population.
2.The sector stakeholders have key inputs to address more effectively the challenges of socio-economic inclusion of the most vulnerable people in the Latin America.
