This workshop equips you with the critical knowledge and tools to assess your partner organizations’ financial systems, capacity, and resources that you need to make decisions on funding and other support.
Our expert facilitators will set the scene by putting the partner assessment process into context and identifying key risks and challenges. The workshop continues with a focus on analyzing financial statements, financial resilience, and partner reviews. Finally, you’ll have the opportunity to put the learning into practice with a sample case study.
After completing the workshop, you will be ready with templates, tips, and a toolkit to support your partner reviews in the future.
By the end of this workshop, learners will be able to:
- Perform a ‘due diligence’ review for a partner organization, using a checklist approach to identify key risks, conclusions and actions
- Describe key financial management challenges facing partners, and the consequences and risks for program implementation
- Describe best practice financial management models and assessment frameworks
- List financial roles and responsibilities for governing body members and the signs of weak financial governance
- Analyze partners’ audited financial statements, including reviewing the auditor’s opinion and calculating financial ratios
- Prepare for and conduct a partner site visit to assess finance systems and practices.
