JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI), with support from USAID's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, is pleased to invite you to apply for a 5-day health commodity supply chain management workshop. The workshop targets mid-level country or regional staff working in fragile and humanitarian settings.

Please Note: Due to COVID restrictions, JSI policies, and guidance from USAID BHA, this workshop will be limited to individuals already in Nairobi. If you reside in Nairobi or happen to already be in Nairobi and all your country entrance requirements can be managed without any support from our project, you are welcome to join. The workshop is free but JSI and BHA will not sponsor per diem or travel costs.

Space is limited, and JSI will give priority to BHA implementing partners. This workshop may be postponed or cancelled based on local COVID or other related travel restrictions.

After the completing the workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate knowledge of supply chain principles through the completion of the e-learning course and review of the addendum to Supply Chain Managers Handbook, Supply Chain Management for Healthcare in Humanitarian Response Settings.
  2. Identify essential logistics data to collect and report, processes for analysis, and information to share across multiple partners to improve commodity availability and monitor supply chain performance during humanitarian crises.
  3. Describe best practices for product selection, procurement, quantification, inventory management practices, warehousing and distribution for kits and individual products when preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters.
  4. Apply principles learned through participation in site visit assessments and assignments during the workshop.
  5. Present an action plan for implementing one or more supply chain management improvement interventions for their own programs to help improve disaster response.
