Each year, The Rotary Foundation awards up to 10 fellowships for master’s level studies at the Duke-UNC Rotary Peace Center. We are currently recruiting candidates for the 2022 academic year that demonstrate their ability to have a significant positive impact on world peace and conflict resolution during their future careers.
Duke-UNC Rotary Peace Fellows are supported by the fellowship for the 21-month duration of the program. The fellowship includes full tuition and other university fees, a monthly stipend for room and board, transportation and stipend for a summer internship, funding for participation in academic conferences, and transportation between the fellow’s home and study destination at the start and end of the fellowship period.
Candidates chose from the following academic programs:
Duke University: The Master of International Development Policy (MIDP) is a unique, flexible interdisciplinary degree program that trains mid-career professionals who plan to dedicate their careers to policy-making and public service in and for developing countries.
University of North Carolina: Rotary Peace Fellows have the opportunity to study in various departments or schools to which they are admitted. Fellows have received master’s degrees from the following departments in recent years: Global Studies, Public Health and Journalism
Qualified candidates must:
▪ Have three years of related work experience for the master’s program (five years for the Duke program)
▪ Be proficient in English
▪ Have a bachelor’s degree
▪ Demonstrate leadership skills
▪ Have a strong commitment to cross-cultural understanding and peace
