We are pleased to announce our first ever online training in dialogue and conflict transformation open to the public. We welcome everyone who is interested, March 4-7th 2021!
Dialogue is a way of communicating which focuses on understanding, rather than convincing, «the others». This understanding enables us to build or rebuild relationships. This digital training is for you who is interested in exploring the potential of dialogue to transform conflicts, to prevent or deescalate conflicts by changing the way of communication, and to create coordinated efforts by using a dialogue processes.
Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue have more than 25 years of experience with dialogue facilitation and training across the globe, amongst others in Norway, Poland, Iraq, Afghanistan, Chile, and Germany. In 2020, while COVID-19 has continued to limit our travel possibilities, we have gained extensive experience with digital dialogue trainings with participants from Syria, Iraq, Chile, Poland, US and Norway.

On completion of this digital training, you are qualified to attend more advanced digital and physical dialogue trainings in the future.
Methodology
This is an interactive and explorative four-days digital training. You will be guided through different topics and activities where you will share your personal experiences, give- and receive feedback, and challenge yourself personally and professionally using the principles of dialogue. We will use zoom as a digital platform and how this works technically and participatory will be explained at the beginning of the training.
Practical info
When: March 4 – 7, 2021
Deadline for applications: February 22, 2021. Payment before March 1 to ensure your participation.
Time schedule: All days Thursday to Sunday from 1 pm to 6 pm. Current time is in the CET (Central European Time) time zone.
Number of participants: The number of participants is limited to 30. This is because of the interactive nature of the digital training. We will select participants with the aim of creating a diverse group of people, experiences, and interests. (A minimum of participants is 12).
Please note: Since the methodology in the course is process-based, it is very important that all participants are present throughout all sessions. Home assignments can be given between the training days. After completing the training, you will receive a certificate and get access to our digital handbook in Dialogue and Conflict transformation.
